Step back and use a zoom lens to make your subject more at ease. This will also create a dramatic effect at wider apertures!

Nikon D5000 55mm ISO 1000 F 18 1/60 sec overhead florescent lights, directional lighting via LED all images edited exactly the same so as not to influence the lighting effect (some very abstract effects can come from playing with the color curves)
